APP PRIVACY
App Privacy Policy
How the MyAnimalRoom mobile app handles your information and the choices available to you.
Effective date:
MyAnimalRoom is operated by 강보승, who is responsible for the information they handle through the app and support. This policy covers the mobile app. The website and feature suggestion board have a separate website privacy notice.
1. Information stored on your device
You can use focus sessions, tasks, plant growth, room decoration, and memories without an app account. The app stores the following in its private storage on your device to provide these features and display your records:
- Focus times, duration, goals and tags; tasks, recurrence and completion; and earned or spent fragments
- Room layouts, animal nicknames and plant growth, journal text and dates, selected photos, and room images created in the app
- Preferences such as language, notifications and sound, and device backup settings
The app copies photos you select with the system photo picker. Its copies may remain after you delete the originals or change photo permissions. Information embedded in selected image files may also be stored.
During ordinary use, these records are not sent to an operator-run server. The current app does not use advertising, ad tracking, or external usage analytics transmission for the operator.
2. Optional Dropbox connection and backup
Dropbox is optional. When you connect, the app uses your Dropbox account ID and email on your device to identify and display the backup account. It does not send this account information or authentication tokens to an operator-run server. You sign in through Dropbox in a browser; the app does not receive or store your Dropbox password.
The app requests permission to identify the connected account and to list, download, save and delete backups. File access is limited to this app’s Dropbox App Folder.
Backups transfer a copy of app records and settings, media including photos, and information used to verify restoration directly from your device to your Dropbox App Folder. Metadata includes backup, installation and dataset identifiers, creation time, backup type, file paths, sizes and integrity values. Transfers do not pass through an operator-run storage server.
You start manual backups yourself. Automatic backup is off by default. If enabled, it runs while the app is active on Wi-Fi when conditions such as changed data are met. After a new automatic backup succeeds, the app removes older automatic backups to keep the latest three. More than three may remain if cleanup fails. Manual backups are kept separately until you delete them.
Confirming a restore replaces the app data currently in use with the selected backup. Information received for backup and restoration is used for that account’s connection, backup and restoration functions. Dropbox’s own handling of account, connection and file information is described in its Privacy Policy.
3. Retention and deletion
You can manage records with the viewing, editing and deletion features available in the app. Deleting device records, turning off automatic backup, disconnecting Dropbox and deleting remote backups are separate actions. Earlier backups may still contain records you deleted on your device.
Turning off automatic backup leaves existing backups in place. Disconnecting stops further backups and restores, removes connection credentials from the device’s secure storage, and attempts Dropbox revocation when an access token is available. It does not delete device records or existing remote backups. You can also manage connected app permissions in Dropbox.
The app’s backup list lets you delete individual manual backups. To remove all remote copies, turn off automatic backup and separately manage the files in the app’s Dropbox folder. The app retains a deletion marker in the App Folder to prevent a deleted backup from reappearing or being restored. It contains technical metadata such as identifiers, dates, file paths, sizes and integrity values, rather than journal text or photo files. Some files may remain until cleanup succeeds after a deletion failure.
Local snapshots, downloads, restoration working copies and account-specific backup settings may remain after an operation or disconnection. The three-backup remote retention rule does not apply to these local copies. Operating system app storage, backups and device transfers are separate from Dropbox backup.
Deleted Dropbox files may remain subject to Dropbox’s retention and recovery rules for your account and plan. Deleting a backup in the app does not guarantee immediate permanent deletion of every external copy.
4. Support email
The support feature opens a draft in your email app. The draft includes the app version, operating system and version, Android API level where relevant, and app language. You can review and edit it before sending. Nothing is sent automatically. If you send it, the operator receives your sender email address, message and attachments, and any included device details to answer your request and investigate problems. The app does not automatically attach your app database or photos.
Support email is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing and received and handled in Gmail. Messages are retained for resolving your request and following up on the same issue for up to three months after resolution, and are deleted sooner if no longer needed. At the end of the retention period, messages are removed using the mail service’s deletion controls, including from Trash. You can contact the address below to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal information in support correspondence.
For these providers’ handling of email service information, see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
5. Your choices and requests
You can manage photo and notification permissions in device settings, and automatic backup and the Dropbox connection in app settings. Basic features remain available without these optional features.
For requests about information handled by the operator, email contact@myanimalroom.com. The operator will check identity or authority where necessary and handle requests under applicable law. The operator cannot remotely view or delete records held only on your device, but can explain how to manage them there.
6. Security
Records and photos use the app’s private storage. Dropbox communication uses HTTPS, and file size and integrity are checked before restoration. Refresh tokens use the device’s secure storage; access tokens are held in running memory. Tokens are not included in the records database or backups. The app does not provide its own end-to-end encryption.

If the purposes, information or retention practices change, this policy and its effective date will be updated and changes announced in the app or on the website. Additional procedures will be followed where applicable law requires them.
